One of the most exciting parts of creating Guilded Pour candles is that every piece feels like its own little story. I love the entire process — discovering beautiful vintage teacups, imagining the personality and atmosphere they inspire, and then carefully pairing them with the perfect scent, wax color, and styling. Some candles feel romantic and feminine, others feel cozy and nostalgic, while some take on a darker, moodier “library” or vintage glamour aesthetic.
From treasure hunt to crafted beauty
Behind the scenes at The Guilded Pour, there’s usually a mix of vintage treasure hunting, candle pouring, scent testing, photography setups, and a little organized creative chaos. You’d see shelves and boxes filled with carefully collected teacups waiting to become part of future collections — everything from delicate floral china to dramatic pedestal cups and retro vintage finds. A lot of time is spent searching antique shops, thrift stores, estate sales, and secondhand treasures looking for pieces with personality and charm.
Igniting inspiration: where our ideas bloom
Inspiration for The Guilded Pour comes from a mix of vintage beauty, cozy atmospheres, storytelling, and the feeling certain objects or scents create the moment you see them. A lot of inspiration begins with the teacup itself. Sometimes it’s the shape, the artwork, the gold detailing, or even the colors that immediately create a mood in my mind — romantic florals, dark academia libraries, English tea rooms, retro kitchens, antique parlors, secret gardens, or vintage vanity tables.
